"Successful management of weather risks" meeting point

It is well known that agriculture is threatened by weather risks more than almost any other sector. Hail, storms, heavy rain, frost and, increasingly, drought affect crops and jeopardise the liquidity of farms.

VEREINIGTE HAGEL offers comprehensive information on how farmers can protect themselves against the financial consequences in the long term. Visitors will also be able to try their hand as damage experts. Another highlight is the ‘HASI’ hail simulation machine, the operation of which will be explained.

Active risk management also plays a role. Using the meteosol® weather station directly in the test field, visitors can see how to plan their operations using local, scientific weather data and what constitutes a reliable weather forecast.
