Track 2: Deep tillage for seedbed preparation
Daily: 10.55 am – 11.35 am
How many operations are required, which tillage implement is the right one – and at what depth is an optimal seedbed created for mulch sowing? These are questions that farmers face on a daily basis across a wide variety of site conditions. The focus here is on deep seedbed preparation: starting with cereal stubble of around 10 to 15 cm in length remaining after the GPS harvest, which has initially been worked shallowly with a disc harrow, subsequent soil cultivation takes place at depths of 15 to 25 cm.
The line-up of 15 different machines for deep tillage offers a comprehensive and practical overview of this. It demonstrates how a wide variety of technical approaches – from deep loosening implements with trailing reconsolidation to various cultivator designs – tackle this demanding task. This allows visitors to make a direct comparison of the methods and technologies and gain valuable insights into site-specific, efficient seedbed preparation for mulch sowing.
