IWANA Project

Integrating biodiversity – rethinking arable farming

How can biodiversity measures be integrated in such a way that commercial crop production is ecologically enhanced whilst remaining viable? IWANA – Integration of valuable wild herbs in intensive commercial crop production – demonstrates how both can be achieved: not an either/or situation, but a harmonious coexistence.

Field wild herbs are among the most endangered species groups – and are at the same time central to functioning agroecosystems. IWANA demonstrates how their targeted integration can succeed under practical conditions.
